Refuse to Be A Victim
The NRA designed this instructor-led, in-person course to instruct in heightened awareness of our everyday actions. “The Refuse To Be A Victim® program is not a firearms or self-defense class. It is a seminar that will help you improve your personal safety strategies and will provide you with valuable information that you can apply in every area of your life.”
This is a hybrid course, with one part being online and the second consisting of range time. No qualification score is required. This course will discuss safety rules, the types of pistols and which one is best for you, the basics of ammunition and selection considerations, the fundamentals of pistol shooting to include different shooting positions, and the most common shooting errors. Not to be overlooked, we will touch on proper gun cleaning and maintenance, finishing with how to maintain your skills.
This 16 – hour course of instruction focuses on the laws and considerations to carrying a concealed firearm in the state of Maryland. We will discuss some of the topics included in the HQL training course, suicide prevention, locations expressly off-limits to concealed firearms, and reciprocity. We will also look at the different types and styles of holsters and the contemplations one should make in purchasing. This class requires a range certification component that will require scheduled “live fire” time on the range.
Utah License training is a four-hour course of instruction that includes classroom instruction on Utah firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, suicide prevention, and safe handgun handling. This permit certification is highly sought after as it allows the permit holder to carry concealed in more than 30 states.
Handgun Qualification License training is a four-hour course of instruction that includes classroom instruction on Maryland State firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate the ability to fire a handgun safely.
** NOTE ** At this time, the class is also offered virtually until further notice.
